The short version
We collect only what you type into our forms. We do not set cookies, run advertising trackers, or sell or share your details.
What we collect
- Weekend Smoke Guide sign-up: your email address, and optionally your first name and the cooker you use. We also record that you ticked the consent box, which page you signed up from, and when.
- Acquisition and partnership inquiries: your name, email, optional company, the topic you chose and your message.
We do not store IP addresses with submissions.
Why we use it
Sign-up details are used to email you new guides from The Smoking Grill, which you asked for by ticking the consent box. Inquiry details are used only to reply to you. We do not use your details for anything else.
Where it is stored and who processes it
The site runs on Cloudflare. Cloudflare acts as our service provider for:
- Hosting of the site and the form endpoint (Cloudflare Workers).
- Storage of form submissions in a Cloudflare D1 database.
- Email notifications of new submissions to the site owner, sent through Cloudflare Email Sending.
- Bot protection on forms with Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser for signs of automation when you submit a form.
- Visitor statistics, if enabled, through Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across sites.
Cloudflare processes data under its own privacy policy, available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
How long we keep it
Sign-up details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Inquiries are kept as long as needed to deal with them, and then deleted.
Your choices
To unsubscribe, see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, email hello@thesmokinggrill.com. We will act on your request.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above will change with it.
